  • Events will take place at parks and community spaces across Richmond, including:

    • Richmond Olympic Oval (kick-off event)

  • No. All events are free, open to the public, and are not gated. You may drop in at any time during event hours.

  • Activities vary by location but may include:

    • Recreational soccer games and skill challenges

    • Cultural performances and live entertainment

    • Family-friendly games, crafts and art stations

    • Inflatable attractions and interactive activities

    • Community partner booths and demonstrations

    • Soccer-themed contests and activities

    Each event has its own mix of programming.

  • Yes. All events are designed for all ages, with activities suitable for children, youth, adults and seniors.

  • Sunday, July 19th from 11:00am – 6:00pm

  • Admission to Richmond Celebrates Soccer - Final Event is free.

  • There are multiple ways to get to the festival.

    Via Bike:

    • Richmond has many scenic and convenient bike paths from Richmond Brighouse and Bridgeport stations.

    • Wheel Watch, a free bike valet service, is available Saturday to Sunday, 9am-6pm

    ‍Shuttles: A free park-and-ride shuttle service will be offered from Richmond City Hall and H.J. Cambie Secondary School to the event.

    • ‍The shuttle from Richmond City Hall (6911 No. 3 Road) will travel to and from the event site at Aberdeen Neighbourhood Park every 15 to 25 minutes from 11am to 6:15pm.

    • The shuttle from H.J. Cambie Secondary School (4151 Jacombs Road) will travel to and from the event site at Aberdeen Neighbourhood Park every 15 to 20 minutes from 11am to 6:15pm.

    Via Car:

    • Free parking with shuttle service is available at Richmond City Hall (6911 No. 3 Road), and H.J. Cambie Secondary School (4151 Jacombs Road).  

    • There are a limited number of accessible parking stalls on-site. A SPARC pass is required and must be shown for access.

    • There will be a designated passenger drop-off and pick-up zone on the East side of Brown Road just North of Cambie Road.

  • There are a limited number of accessible parking stalls on-site on the North East side of Brown Road between Sweet Avenue and Cambie Road. 

  • The World Soccer Day Kick-Off Event is a free, family-friendly celebration taking place on June 12th, marking the beginning of a series of community soccer events throughout the summer in Richmond. This kickoff event features two live outdoor match screenings, along with interactive activities and community programming, including public soccer and foosball tournaments, live music, food, and activations from local organizations, offering a full day of fun both on and off the field.

  • Yes. The signature Final Event will take place on July 19th at Aberdeen Neighbourhood Park. It will include:

    • Live performances and cultural programming

    • Soccer demonstrations and activities

    • A large public watch party for the FIFA World Cup Final

    • Family-friendly experiences and interactive stations

    This is the largest event in the series.

  • Yes. All events include public viewing of FIFA World Cup matches on a large outdoor screen. Viewing areas will be set up at each location, but seating may be limited. Bringing your own lawn chair or blanket is recommended.

  • Parking is available at or near most venues. Attendees are encouraged to plan ahead and consider walking, cycling, or transit where possible.

    If driving to the Richmond Olympic Oval, please refer to Richmond Olympic Oval's website for live parking data and alternate parking options.

  • You may wish to bring:

    • Comfortable clothing and footwear

    • A reusable water bottle

    • Sunscreen or weather-appropriate gear

    • Lawn chairs or blankets for viewing

  • Yes. Residents are encouraged to attend multiple events, as each location offers a unique experience.

  • Events are planned as outdoor community gatherings. Updates will be provided through City channels if weather impacts programming.

Final Signature Match

  • Yes.

  • Accessible washrooms are available in the public washroom building on the West side of the park.  Accessible porta-potties are available throughout the event site.

  • Yes, sensory kits can be signed out for use during the festival at the information booth.

  • Yes. A variety of food trucks will be placed throughout the site. Nearby businesses also offer an assortment of food options.

  • Water stations are located near the public washroom building on the West end of the park.

  • The Activity Zone will have a variety of activities for the entire family to enjoy, such as: Make your own mini-megaphone, wood crafting, face painting, and various sports games.
